Gien, the ONLY French casual chic tableware
and giftware 100% designed and made in France

Gien products are all 100% designed and made in France. At the factory, located in Gien in France, you can see the manufacturing process, starting with clay and sand, and ending with our beautiful finished product. During this process, a typical Gien product will go thru at least 30 pairs of hands. Gien has nurtured and enriched the know-how required to produce our product and elevated this craftsmanship to an art. As a result, Gien is part of the renowned Colbert Committee, an exclusive group of de luxe French brands, including Dior, Chanel, Vuitton, Hermès, etc. Throughout its 200 year history, Gien has been widely recognized : crested plates for many European aristocratic families, tiles for the Paris metro at the end of the 19th Century, bespoke tableware for the famous Orient Express train, and much more.

Gien is a unique combination of casual and chic style, characteristic of French elegance. Gien products display a beautiful blend of colours that are both rich and subtle. This is due to the specific nature of Gien ceramics which are fired at lower temperatures than traditional china. This allows for brighter colours. Gien patterns are very often designed by artists. They are never issued from automated, machine replicated designs. This gives a unique hand made touch to Gien patterns.
