In 1814, Carolus Magnus Hutschenreuther founded the first modern private porcelain factory in Bavaria. He thus laid the foundation for the entire porcelain industry in northern Bavaria. The most well-known, of course, remains the Hutschenreuther Blue Onion Pattern. With the introduction of the first Hutschenreuther Christmas bell by Ole Winther in 1978, Hutschenreuther created its own world of collecting. Even today, Christmas bells from earlier years remain popular with collectors and are highly sought after at collectors' fairs.

The lion has adorned the Hutschenreuther base mark since 1919 and continues to symbolize quality and durability.
